What we collect
- Account data: your name, email address and billing details. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see full card numbers.
- Usage metadata: timestamps, request fingerprints (hashes), model and provider names, cost, API key ID and IP address.
- Receipts: signed records of decisions. They hold fingerprints (hashes) and the decision only, never message text or document content.
- Public clock: receipt fingerprints are added to a public Merkle tree and timestamped against Bitcoin. A published fingerprint cannot be deleted, but it reveals nothing about the underlying data.
Why we use it
To provide the service (contract), to keep it secure and prevent fraud (legitimate interests), and to keep tax and accounting records (legal obligation).
Who processes it for us
Amazon Web Services (London, UK region) for hosting the service, Base44 for hosting this website, Stripe for payments, and Microsoft for email.
International transfers
Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
Account data: 12 months after your account closes. Billing records: 6 years. Operational logs: 90 days. Public clock fingerprints: permanently.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to or move your data. Contact us through metrecept.co.uk/contact. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
